Week 113: Notes in brief
Early and brief weeknotes from me, as I’m away from tomorrow for a 5 day interrail trip around Europe, for which the only thing I’ve booked is the outward and return Eurostars. The rest is open to spontaneity.
This week I’ve:
- run the NHS prototype kit training course for a new group of 9 designers, who all seemed to enjoy it and have sent some nice feedback
- been finding and collating examples of all the different NHS tests, checks and screening you can get via the NHS App and website
- drafted a rationale for why I think a cohesive ‘Get a test’ journey in the NHS App makes sense, and how it might be developed incrementally
- attended a playback from a team looking at how the NHS App might be able to notify users about more things than just messages
- had a chat with a service designer who’s joined recently and is exploring a strategy for giving parents more visibility and control of their children’s health in the NHS App
- spoken to Giles and co about next steps for managing the NHS digital prevention services website
- completed some admin tasks to enable our GitHub repos to remain public
- nudged a couple more things along in the emerging NHS App iOS design system and didn’t fall into too many SwiftUI rabbitholes
- started making plans for NHS Design History Day 2026 - hoping to make it even bigger and better than last year
That’ll do. See you next week!
Shout out to NHS Wales who came to our team’s show and tell this week! 💙🏴
